About Taizé

Taizé started in France as a youth movement after the Second World War, as a way to bring hope and peace to a discouraged generation. The name 'Taiz´' comes from the name of village in the South of France, where an ecumenical monastic community was established and contuse to florish. Today, Taizé has spread throughout the world, bringing its message of healing to an ever growing number of participants. Singing is in many languages; often Latin chants are used as a musical connection between many languages and cultures.
