Isaiah 58
6 Is not this the fast that I choose:
to loose the bonds of injustice,
to undo the thongs of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
and bring the homeless poor into your homes,
when you see the naked, to cover them,
and not to hide yourself from your own kin?
"Everyone sacrifices to someone or something. If the sacrifice is real and not neurotic, life and joy spring from it. What a human being does is simply to bless. To be human is to be in a great cycle of love — knowing one is loved and loving in return."
Alan Jones
We are set in our place (whatever and wherever that may be), to be a blessing. In Sacrifice and Delight Alan Jones goes on to say:
"We are all priests of creation born to praise and give thanks, born to bless."
May we be a blessing to the creation.
